SWBAT analyze their growth over the school year and write a letter to me reflecting their findings and thoughts in response to my final letter .

Looking back one last time. Then, looking forward to an "awesome" summer.

Warm Up

5 minutes

To open class today, I will be sharing summer reading program information for our librarian, but also to encourage my students to read over the summer. For several it seems like "summer reading" is an oxymoron, but I want them to know many people including myself will be reading for enjoyment all summer long.

Independent Work

40 minutes

Why focus on finishing?

Class time today will be spent finishing yesterday's final letter assignment. This is the last day of regular classes for my students (any many are not in class due to end of the year obligations with band, choir, etc.), so it's very relaxed - it's all about finishing and looking toward summer at this point.
